Mixed Media
Original signed painting by Sonny and Lisa Moeckel
Cochise is a symbol of Apache strength, resistance, and dignity. He was a leader in the Apache Wars. He was admired by both his own people and even some of his former enemies for his leadership and owner. Cochise led a decade-long guerilla war against the U.S. Army and settlers that were encroaching on Apache lands. Cochise County, Arizona is named in his honor.
